Programming your Symbol LS 2208 Barcode Scanner.

Step One:
Open the LS 2208 Product Reference Guide on the Symbol CD which came with your scanner. If you have a slot loading drive, please do NOT insert the mini-CD into your drive. Instead, visit ftp://symstore.longisland.com/Symstore/techpubs/manuals/scanner/pdf/5880802a.pdf to download the Guide driectly to your computer.

Step Two:
Print the following pages from the Product Reference Guide (written as "Chapter-Page")

12-14, 12-15, 12-16, 12-17, 12-18

Step Three:
Open the printed Symbol LS 2208 MANUAL (not the product reference guide) included with your barcode scanner, and then scan the following:

Page 65: SET DEFAULTS
Page 66: IBM PC/AT AND IBM PC COMPATIBLES
Page 67: NORTH AMERICAN

Step Four:
To program the scanner to include an "Enter" automatically after scanning a barcode, and then scan the following:

Page 74:
SCAN OPTIONS
<DATA><SUFFIX>
ENTER

Step Five:
Scan the following from the Product Reference Guide:

12-14:
Do Not Transmit UPC-A Check Digit
Do Not Transmit UPC-E Check Digit

12-15:
Do Not Transmit UPC-E1 Check Digit

12-16:
No Preamble (<DATA>)

12-17:
No Preamble (<DATA>)

12-18:
No Preamble (<DATA>)

Step Six:
You are now finished programming your LS 2208 Barcode scanner. It will no longer scan the check digits, and will insert an Enter after scanning.

To restart this process at any time, scan Set Defaults in the printed LS 2208 manual, page 65.
